Rutgerson Sponsors World Leading Sailing Podcast

Swedish yacht equipment manufacturer Rutgerson has signed on as “Presenting Sponsor” of the popular sailing podcast On the Wind, produced and hosted by proffessional sailor Andy Schell who this summer will test some of Rutgerson’s latest products in an Arctic Expedition.

On the Wind is the world’s largest sailing podcast, based on one-hour long informal chats between the host Andy Schell and experienced ocean sailors from all over the world. The main purpose of the podcast is “sharing the wisdom of the high seas, with those wise enough to seek it out”. It has been released in 234 episodes so far, all together downloaded more than two million times since the start 2013.

“Cooperating with Andy Schell is simply a great way for us to reach out to sailor’s around the globe. Andy is not only an extremely talented podcast host but also an experienced ocean skipper. The listeners know he would only work with companies he trusts”, says Charlotte Rutgerson who is Managing Director for the family business in Sweden where Rutgerson has been producing world leading yacht equipment since 1976.

New episodes of the podcast are published weekly or bi-weekly. Among the guests we find names like sailing legend Sir Robin Knox Johnson, Volvo Ocean Race skipper Magnus Olsson and YouTube stars like RAN Sailing & S/V Delos. But also Rutgerson’s founder Göran Rutgerson and the company’s Technical Designer Ludvig Hammarberg have previously been sharing their salty stories on the show.

I’d be talking about it anyway”, says Andy Schell who also runs the offshore charter business 59 North Ltd together with his Swedish wife Mia Karlsson with their Swan 48 Isbjörn – currently bound for an Artic Adventure with the Crew of S/V Delos.
