Rutgerson Flush Air Vent H9-180B is the only flushed air vent available on the market. This unique product is completely flushed to the hatch and its black colour and round shape as well as the seamless connection between the opening part and receptacle, makes the product very discreet and almost invisible from afar. The Flush Air Vent has been designed to capture as much air as possible while keeping out water, such as waves and rain. There are no clasps, knobs or rotating movements needed to open or close the air vent.
When open, the venting unit sticks up over the otherwise flat surface. When closed, the ventilating unit does not exceed the depth of the inner handles. This air vent can be closed and made water-tight from the deck, removing the need to go down into the cabin to close it.
It is not recommended to retrofit a Rutgerson Flush Air Vent to any hatch. Doing so will void both the warranty and the CE-marking of the hatch. Rutgerson air vents are CE-certified together with our hatches. They have passed both pressure test and mechanical tests required by EN ISO 12216:2018 to fulfil the EU Directive.
Other brand hatches are most probably not made from the same specification of glass material and thickness as our Master Flush Hatches and may have different distribution of cutouts for handles, hinges and stays. The new cutout for the vent will affect the stiffness and strength of the glass. The hatch might start to leak or, worse case, the glass might crack when stepped on after installation
